Wish u all a “Happy deepavali”
These are the reasons for celebrating Deepavali ..
quoting wiki :* Return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya: It is believed that the people of Ayodhya lit ghee lamps along the way to light their path in the darkness.
* killing of narakasura by krishna’s wife satyabhama : Before Narakasura’s death, he requested a boon from Satyabhama (believed to be an Avatar of Bhudevi), that everyone should celebrate his death with colorful light.
* Austerities of Shakti: According to the Skanda Purana, Deepavali is the completion day of austerity. This is the day Lord Shiva accepted Shakti into the left half of the form and appeared as Ardhanarishvara.
.
* Krishna defeating Indra: Govardhan Puja is celebrated the day after Diwali. It is the day Lord Krishna defeated Indra, the deity of thunder and rain. Indra angered by krishna’s deeds, flooded the village. Krishna then lifted Mt Govardhan and held it up as protection to his people and cattle from the rain. Indra finally accepted defeat and recognized Krishna as supreme

Different stories about the origin of Diwali :
Rama bumped off Ravana
Krishna took Narakasura for a ride
Shakti sued Siva to get half of his assets
Krisha lifted the Govardhana mountain to show Indra who is the boss.
the connection is Deepawali…and the pics represent the reasons behind its celebration…
1. Ram and Sita coming back to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile
2. m confused about the image…could be killing of Narakasura
3. Lakshmi…born out of Samudra Manthan and chhosing Vishnu as her husband
4. Krishna defeating Indra by lifting Govardhan…
Connect – These are the several significant events associated with Diwali by Hindus.
pic 1 – Return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya.

All different reasons to celebrate dipawali:

No clue about the connect!! 😦
Topical question, of course. Diwali legends.
Return of Rama to Ayodhya, Killing of Narakasura, Appearance of Shiva as Ardhanarishwar, Defeat of Indra by Krishna through the simple means of lifting the Govardhan parvat.

The connect being the significance of each of the days of Deepavali(in chrono order).
1st pic is rama returning to ayodhya after killing ravana.
2nd is killing of narakasura by krishna and satyabhama.
3rd is ardha nareeshwara
4th is krishna defating indra and holding govaradhana giri as an umbrella.
all these “events” are associated with deepavali (according to wiki) so the connect is deepavali.
I think these photos depict the different days of Diwali….like the last pic depicts Lord Krishna and the Govardhana, the day after Diwali is Govardhan Puja.
Very vague….
1. Rama and Seetha
2.
3. Ardha Nareeshwar
4. Krishna lifting Govardhan Kill
All from Hindu epics
1) rama pattabhi sekham
2) rama leela
3) artha nareshwari

Is the connect – triumph against evil? or celebration after the destruction of evil (diwali)?
1.Homecoming of Lord Rama & Sita – back to Ayodhya
2.Slaying of Narakasura by Satyabhama-Krishna
3.Lord Shiva & Shakti assuming the “ardhanarishwara” form
